Timpany Center Adaptive and General Swim Lessons

Timpany Center Adaptive and General Swim Lessons offers adaptive swim lessons, general swim lessons, private swimming lessons for kids and adults with special needs, and semi-private swim lessons. The adaptive swim lesson program is designed for individuals with developmental and/or cognitive challenges. The program promotes fitness, water play skills, foundational swimming skills, and social-emotional wellbeing through fun pool-based activities, and the general swim lesson curriculum is a progression that helps swimmers develop their water safety and swimming skills and is intended to further develop technique and conditioning of swimmers who have been newly introduced to swimming.

• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: 7 week sessions with lesson options generally offered Monday through Friday, 1:00pm–5:30pm
• Price: Private Lessons: Instructor-to-swimmer ratio 1:1, 35-minute lessons: $48.00. Semi-private Lessons: Instructor-to-swimmer ratio 1:2, 35-minute lesson: $42.00 per individual.

The Timpany Center’s indoor pool is maintained at 92°F, with a zero-depth entry using steps and a ramp and a depth range from 2 to 8 feet, and aquatic programs are offered year-round in this warm water facility. The Timpany Center states that it offers fun, effective, and affordable swim lessons for participants of all ages and skill levels. Most instructors are educated in the field of kinesiology and have studied subjects such as adapted physical activity, motor development, motor learning, and biomechanics. Currently, registration is handled by email, and families receive follow-up from staff within two business days after completing an interest form.
