Timpany Center Adaptive and General Swim Lessons

Timpany Center Adaptive and General Swim Lessons offers adaptive swim lessons, general swim lessons, private swimming lessons for kids and adults with special needs, and semi-private swim lessons. Private lessons use a 1:1 instructor-to-swimmer ratio, and semi-private lessons use a 1:2 instructor-to-swimmer ratio for a small group of two students. The program’s general swim lesson curriculum is a progression that focuses on water safety and swimming skills.

• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: 7 week sessions with lessons generally offered Monday through Friday, 1:00pm–5:30pm
• Price: Private Lessons: 35-minute lessons $48.00 (1:1). Semi-private Lessons: 35-minute lessons $42.00 per individual (1:2).

The Timpany Center’s adapted swim lesson program is for individuals with developmental and/or cognitive challenges. Private swimming lessons for kids and adults with special needs provide individualized attention and focus on critical water safety skills, fitness, water play skills, foundational swimming skills, and social-emotional wellbeing through pool-based activities. The Timpany Center offers aquatic programs year-round in a warm water facility with an indoor pool maintained at 92°F, a zero-depth entry with steps and a ramp, and a depth ranging from 2 to 8 feet.

Most instructors are educated in the field of kinesiology and have studied adapted physical activity, motor development, motor learning, and biomechanics. If the swim lesson program is full, a waitlist is available. The program lists Jennifer Schachner as a contact for more information.
