Summer Camp: Grow-Eat-Make-PEACE includes hands-on learning in regenerative farming, farm-to-table cooking, and nature-based creativity. The program takes place at The Ecology Center, which is a 28-acre Regenerative Organic Certified farm and education center on a historic agricultural property. Campers take part in an immersive camp experience that focuses on these specific activities.
• Ages: 7–12 years old
The Ecology Center was founded in San Juan Capistrano in 2008 and has a 15-year history. Its mission is to shift culture by curating ecological experiences for everyone and providing creative yet achievable solutions for thriving on planet Earth. The organization serves as a hub for southern California’s ecological movement. The leadership team includes Founder and Executive Director Evan Marks, along with Jonathan Zaidman (Engagement), Gregory Foster (Education), Johnny Wilson (Farm), Jose Del Toro (People), Paul Corey (Finance & Operations), Colleen Culhane (Engagement & Development), and Nereo Zago (Art & Design). Members are described as central to the farm’s community, which brings together creatives, self-starters, architects, makers, farmers, culinary leaders, visionaries, educators, and organizers who gather to plant seeds, tend the garden, create with their hands, and share a meal in celebration.
