• Ages: 11–18 years old
• Schedule: Beginner/Intermediate Camp and Advanced Camp run 4 days a week; all positional trainings and Setter, Hitting/Blocking, and Passing/Defense Clinics run 4 days a week for 1.5 hours per session

Beginner/Intermediate Camp is for girls and boys in 3rd–8th grade and focuses on basic volleyball fundamentals including passing, setting, serving, hitting, and blocking, with players separated by level and finishing each day with modified game play and 6v6 games. Advanced Camp is for girls and boys in 7th–12th grade with at least 1 year of club volleyball experience, includes separation by skill level, and uses guided 6v6 play and detail-oriented drills to reinforce advanced techniques in passing, setting, serving, hitting, blocking, and defense. If a high school player is just starting out and looking to learn the basics, the program states that families can email them and they will make sure to accommodate the player.

The Setter Clinic is for girls and boys in 6th–12th grade and covers setting footwork, release, tempo sets, back sets, dumping, and overall concepts of running an offense. The Hitting/Blocking Clinic is for girls and boys in 6th–12th grade and focuses on arm swing mechanics, footwork, attacking out of system, in transition, out of the back row, and how to challenge the block, with coaches teaching blockers eye work for tracking hitters and proper hand placement. The Passing/Defense Clinic is for girls and boys in 6th–12th grade, focuses on serve receive, court coverage on defense, and handling a hard-driven attack, and is encouraged for all players regardless of position, with players separated by level in clinics to support the training environment.

949 Athletics states that it offers quality coaching that focuses on fundamentals as well as high-level techniques and that it only hires coaches who have demonstrated an ability to connect with student-athletes in life and on the court. The Advanced Camp is run by a decorated staff of coaches. The program’s mission is to create a respectful environment in which student-athletes receive positive athletic instruction, experience challenging competition, and learn life skills that will help them beyond the volleyball court.

The program states that it promotes sportsmanlike behavior inside and outside of the gym, respects and nurtures the balance between athletic and academic excellence, instills the values of integrity, dedication, and hard work, and makes sure their athletes have fun. 949 Athletics describes its gym as a state-of-the-art volleyball-specific training facility with Teraflex floors made by Gerflor, the same official floor of the London Olympics and current FIVB volleyball matches, and states that no other training facility has this type of floor that reduces the impact on players’ joints, ligaments, and tendons. It also states that it has a permanent 15,000 sq. ft. training center and that this permanent training center means practices are not cancelled or rescheduled due to the needs of other second and third parties.

In 2009, Justin DeBlasio and Brandon Taliaferro were coaching a team in Anaheim, CA, and they are listed as part of the leadership team for 949 Athletics. Over the last 10 years, 949 Athletics has earned 8 National Championship Junior Olympic Volleyball Gold medals. In years before starting 949, Justin DeBlasio won Junior Olympics twice as a head coach (2009 18 Open and 2005 14 Open) and earned numerous medals in the years in between.
