Grand Central Music has been serving San Luis Obispo since 2005 as a local “Mom and Pop, Brick and Mortar” walk-in music store. The store is described as a one stop shop for music needs, with a family friendly atmosphere and convenient free parking and a bus stop close by on Orcutt Rd. In addition to lessons for musicians of all skill levels, the store offers instrument rentals, instrument repairs, PA/sound and lighting rentals and installation, and buys and sells used music gear. It carries new and used electric and acoustic guitars and basses, guitar strings and tuners, pedals, keyboards, band instruments and accessories, and a variety of quality pre-owned music gear and musical instruments. Services also include guitar, bass, ukulele, and banjo repairs, as well as custom cables, custom pedal boards, and custom PA systems. Dan Ernst is the named store representative, and Dan and the staff have years of experience getting people started on their musical journey and keeping them going. The stated mission is, “Music is an experience. Immerse yourself in that experience at Grand Central Music.” The store is positioned as an alternative to buying from “that faceless place we call the internet.”
