San Marcos AYSO Region 127 offers youth soccer programs that include traditional youth soccer and 5-a-side soccer games. The program also includes the EPIC Program, which offers a soccer experience for children and adults whose physical or mental disabilities make it difficult to successfully participate on mainstream teams. AYSO's Mission for San Marcos AYSO Region 127 is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs which promote a fun, family environment based on AYSO's Six Philosophies: Everyone Plays®, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development. The program's goal is for kids to play soccer, so every player on every team must play at least 50 percent of every game. Each year, new teams are formed to be as evenly balanced as possible, and the program is open to all children who want to register and play soccer, with no elimination try-outs and nobody cut. AYSO requires coaches to create a positive experience for every boy and girl, and the program strives to create a positive environment based on mutual respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude. The organization states that all players should be able to develop their soccer skills and knowledge to the best of their abilities, and it is solely run by volunteers.
The leadership team for San Marcos AYSO Region 127 includes James Morales (Regional Commissioner), Eddie Raymundo (Coach Administrator), Mary Saunders (Child/Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA)), Ana Solis (Registrar), Juan Ambriz (Safety Director), Joanne Shannon (Treasurer), and Deewa Hotaki (EPIC Coordinator). Monthly board meetings are typically held on the first Tuesday of the month.
