San Marcos AYSO Region 127 offers youth soccer programs that follow AYSO’s Six Philosophies: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development. Every player on every team must play at least 50 percent of every game, and new teams are formed each year to be as evenly balanced as possible. The program is open to all children who want to register and play soccer, with no elimination try-outs and no cuts.
• Schedule: Board meetings are typically held on the first Tuesday of the month.
San Marcos AYSO Region 127 is solely run by volunteers, and volunteers and parents are welcome to attend the monthly board meetings. The leadership team includes Regional Commissioner James Morales, Coach Administrator Eddie Raymundo, Child/Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA) Mary Saunders, Registrar Ana Solis, Safety Director Juan Ambriz, Treasurer Joanne Shannon, and EPIC Coordinator Deewa Hotaki. AYSO’s mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs which promote a fun, family environment based on its Six Philosophies. AYSO partners with organizations such as BEEUP Snacks, Chicago Public Schools, AYSO United + AYSO EPIC - Rancho Conejo, Northland Sports Alliance, and the US Center for Mental Health & Sport. Michael Karon, President of AYSO, received the Stack Leadership Award from Stack Sports for his impact in the world of sports volunteering.
