About the provider
San Marcos Pop Warner was founded in 1977 in the San Marcos area. It is the local association of the national Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. organization. The program serves families within the San Marcos School District and notes that any student living in the San Marcos school district is eligible. Its mission includes youth football and cheer with emphasis on safety, fun, participation, sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, self-discipline, leadership, and academic achievement.
SMPW is open to kids ages 5 to 15 that live within the San Marcos Pop Warner boundaries, and any student living in the San Marcos school district is eligible. The objective of San Marcos Pop Warner football is to teach each player the fundamentals of football in an organized, adult-supervised, safety-oriented, and fun setting. They strongly emphasize good sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork, and require each student athlete to meet specific academic standards.
