Murphy Music Camps offers specific programs such as Voicebox Choir, Digital Music Video Camp, Digital Production Camp, Let’s Get Back to Band!, Let’s Get Back to Orchestra!, and Choir Camp. Voicebox Choir rehearses every Wednesday from 5:00pm to 6:30pm and holds a mandatory student meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. On the last day of every week, all classes present a free concert or screening for family and friends.

• Schedule: Voicebox Choir meets in 90-minute sessions on Wednesdays from 5:00pm–6:30pm, with a mandatory student meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 5:00pm–6:00pm, and a Spring 2026 semester beginning Jan. 14th.
• Price: Tuition is $700 plus a $25 materials/t-shirt fee for the entire school year or $400 plus a $25 materials/t-shirt fee for the 2026 Spring Semester.

Murphy Music Camps states that it provides a stimulating environment for learning and expressing music and has a “no child left behind” scholarship policy and a “No Child Turned Away” scholarship program so that applicants are not turned away due to financial hardship. The program offers discounts for early bird signups, siblings, and multiple sessions. At Digital Production Camp, students create a student-produced, directed, and edited music video.

The Voicebox Choir was founded in 2007 and has grown from 17 students at its start to over 70 at its strongest. The leadership team includes co-founder and award-winning choral director Sara Rangel-Murphy, a co-founder who is an award-winning music director at Serra High School, and a co-founder who is an award-winning choir/vocal director at St. Charles School/Parish, with Joe Murphy listed as an instructor by name. The staff is described as an award-winning professional musical staff, and the Voicebox Choir is described as a long-standing, award-winning choir.

Sara Rangel-Murphy earned her Masters in Opera Performance from California State University, Northridge and began her career as an opera singer in the greater Los Angeles area. She has been teaching in the San Carlos area since 2008, served as music director at St. Charles Parish in charge of music for all masses including holy days, weddings, and funerals, and is currently the K–6 music director at St. Charles School. She also runs a private voice studio where she helps students prepare for upcoming auditions.

The Voicebox Choir takes in kids from all over the peninsula and thanks St. Charles as its host. The group participates in a Concert in the Park in San Carlos and has plans to take part in a music festival in the spring.
