Fortified Strength Youth Strength & Conditioning and Olympic Weightlifting is structured as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) focused on youth strength and conditioning. Programs are open to all youth of any background and level, with multiple age-appropriate classes ranging from age six through high school, and no experience required for participation. The program states that safety is a top priority and describes a physically and emotionally safe environment where each athlete is valued and treated equally. It also states that it strives to provide zero cost and below market cost in service of delivering world class coaching, and that it seeks to include youth who “didn’t make the team” in traditional sports environments.
The coaching staff holds USA Weightlifting certifications and CrossFit credentials, including USA Weightlifting Level 2 Certified Coach, USA Weightlifting L1 Certified Coach, and CrossFit L1 Trainer. The leadership team includes Athletic Director Edwin Johnson, a National USA Weightlifting Coach who has served on IWF support staff for Senior and Youth/Junior World Weightlifting Championships in Bahrain and Peru, and Athletic Director and Senior Coach Kimberly Wiese, a USA Weightlifting Level 2 Certified Coach and 2026 IWF Junior World’s Team (Team USA) Senior Coach. Senior Coach Kristian Go-Williams is a USA Weightlifting L1 Certified Coach, CrossFit L1 Trainer, and competitive youth national weightlifting competitor, and Jr. Assistant Coach Kason Luu is a USA Weightlifting L1 Certified Coach. The organization notes that it has a full-time Athletic Director and certified coaching staff and volunteers who meet national standards for instruction and verified safety standards in working with youth.
Fortified Strength Inc. cites a history dating to 2020. The program reports credentials and awards including recognition as a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) for Youth Strength & Conditioning, USA Weightlifting certified coaching, USA Olympic Weightlifting Youth National Champions in 2019, 2023, and 2024, 3rd Best Lifting Team Female U13 at the 2022 USA Youth Weightlifting Nationals, and 2nd place in four team categories at the 2024 USA Youth Weightlifting Nationals. The mission statement says the program serves the community by combating youth delinquency and stagnation in youth development by producing confident, engaged young athletes through strength and conditioning and encouraging a pursuit of lifetime health and fitness.
The organization is structured as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that leverages community resources to fund its primary mission. It seeks partnerships with other gyms, schools, and businesses for facilities, donations, and advisory services to support its work. The program states that it uses facilities with professional training equipment.
