About

MOXI Camps offers hands-on activities that include coding, working with robots, innovative problem solving, and collaboration with their crewmates. Campers take part in projects where they launch projectiles, blow whistles, make stop-animation movies, make their own paper, and fold, paste, cut, and print. They also build cars to race, design paper airplanes, float handmade boats, and spend time mixing, measuring, and mess-making in laboratory and studio settings with colorful and messy mixtures, paint splatters, tons of bubbles, giant bubbles, special slimes, and carefully monitored explosions.

• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Some camps run Monday to Friday; some run Monday to Thursday, with sessions scheduled on specific date ranges throughout spring and summer 2026
• Price: Additional camp shirts are available for purchase ($20).

MOXI Camps is part of MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation, which has three floors of interactive experiences built around science, technology, engineering, art, and math, and includes the Innovation Workshop makerspace open to all museum guests. Each MOXI session includes 18 campers, and campers are given a camp t-shirt upon arrival and are asked to wear it for the duration of camp. Campers are escorted off-site for lunch by volunteers and CPR-certified Camp Counselors equipped with emergency contact information, a first aid kit, radios, and extra supplies, and lunch takes place at local parks and at the beach near the Santa Barbara Wharf. MOXI Camps states that it does not tolerate bullying of any sort, and MOXI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been recognized as one of the Central Coast’s Best Places to Work. The leadership team includes Leah Forester, Camps + Outreach Manager, and Kyle Dent, Camps + Outreach Coordinator. Camp staff are high school graduates, trained in CPR and First Aid Certified, with previous experience working with kids.

Campers are asked to bring comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing that can get dirty, comfortable closed-toe shoes, lunch and snacks, a backpack, a water bottle, and sunscreen, and they are advised not to bring phones or smart watches, toys or other valuables, optional medication (which must be in its original container if brought), sunglasses, or a hat for additional sun protection. MOXI staff cannot administer camper medication. Registration for 2026 Summer Camps is open.
