Santa Barbara Sailing Center Youth Programs

Santa Barbara Sailing Center Youth Programs include Kid's Summer Camp, Kids Camp, and Kids After School Sailing, along with sailing instruction. The broader Santa Barbara Sailing Center also offers activities such as kayak excursions, stand up paddle board excursions, daily cruises, public cruises and boat rides, yacht charters, small boat rentals, and Channel Islands adventures that may be part of the overall environment around the youth programs.

• Schedule: Open Monday–Sunday with seasonal hours, generally 9am–5pm in fall and winter and 9am–6pm in spring and summer

Since 1967, the Santa Barbara Sailing Center has been introducing people to the lifestyle and sport of sailing and has provided professional instruction. The program is led by owner Skip Abed and supported by a large crew of certified instructors with sailing resumes, knowledge, and experiences. The Santa Barbara Sailing Center states that its mission is to enrich people’s lives by providing unique on-the-water experiences and to encourage individuals of all ages and levels of experience to enjoy Santa Barbara from the water. It is one of the largest accredited American Sailing Association schools in the nation, has been chosen as the American Sailing Association School of the Year for two consecutive years, and is Green Business Certified with aims to prevent pollution, conserve natural resources, and exceed environmental regulatory requirements.
