About
SBDI Dance Programs offers dance experiences that immerse participants in music and movement. The program includes children's classes, intergenerational partnerships, creative aging programs, and professional development programs related to dance.
Since 2005, through direct programming and professional development, SBDI Dance Programs has reached more than 30,000 audience members, over 27,000 children, and more than 80 teachers. The program is led by Rosalina Macisco, SBDI Founder. SBDI’s mission is to help all individuals foster tenacity, a standard of excellence, and a belief in oneself that will carry over into all aspects of life. Many of SBDI’s projects receive help from the City and County of Santa Barbara and the Santa Barbara Office of Arts and Culture. One testimonial from Barbara Johnson at Solvang Elementary School describes Rosalina Macisco as having a presence, talent, and a good way with kids, and notes that children focus on the tasks she gives them at their ability level and that everyone is supported and valued by her.
