About

Summer Art Camp takes place within the larger programs of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. The museum’s collection includes 25,000 works of art, classical antiquities rivaled in the West only by the J. Paul Getty Museum, masterpieces of French Impressionism including four works by Claude Monet, and the mural Portrait of Mexico Today, 1932, by David Alfaro Siqueiros at its front entrance. Exhibitions originating at the museum travel to other museums across the Americas and Europe, and the museum welcomes approximately 70,000 visitors to its exhibitions and activities each year.

• Schedule: Summer Art Camp 2026

The mission of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art is to integrate art into the lives of people. The museum provides forty art education programs to over 40,000 people in Santa Barbara County each year. It offers free transportation for school groups and after-school activities, and free California State Standard based education programs for Santa Barbara School District students in grades K–12. Many of its education programs involve collaborations with community organizations, schools and teachers, colleges and universities, as well as selected artists. The museum receives less than 1% of its budget from government grants and no regular tax dollars, and spends approximately 20% of every dollar on education programs.
