Lidya’s Fine Art Classes offers drawing, sketching, and painting classes, including mixed media, acrylic, and oil painting. The program includes drawing and sketching art classes, painting fine art classes, kids art classes, teen art classes, adult art classes, private art classes, birthday painting parties, and art and fun classes.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Class hours on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and Saturdays from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, with options such as 1.5-hour and 3-hour weekly sessions depending on class type
• Price: $80–$300 per month, depending on class type and weekly hours
Drawing and sketching art classes meet 1.5 hours per week for $80 per month. Painting fine art classes in mixed media, acrylic, and oil painting are offered as 1.5-hour-per-week sessions for $160 per month or 3-hour-per-week sessions for $300 per month. Kids art classes are 1.5 hours, teen art classes are 1.5 or 3 hours, and adult art classes are 1.5 or 3 hours.
The instructor, Lidya, is a professional fine artist and an experienced professor in fine arts in several universities, colleges, and academies for over 20 years. Lidya Tchakerian is an international contemporary artist who has been creating contemporary new expressionism (neo expressionism) art since 1986 and has received national and international scholarships and awards for her artwork.
According to the program’s mission, Lidya’s Fine Art Classes teaches adults, teens, and children the basics of drawing, sketching, and painting in simple, step-by-step lessons with educational subjects in different media. The classes are based on university academic fine arts programs and include instruction on edges, spaces, negative spaces, relationships of proportions, and color technology. Art classes are tailored to each student’s level, and students receive one-on-one instruction from the instructor in a group setting.
The program also offers new art and fun classes with wine or a cocktail and snacks included, and all art supplies, beverages, and snacks are included in the price for these art and fun classes. For birthday painting parties, participants choose a theme, bring cake and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks, and all painting supplies are provided; kids or adults create and take home a finished artwork the same day, and parents are welcome to paint with their kids or stay during the party. Art commissions are also available. The program serves communities throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, including Aqua Dulce, CalArts, Canyon Country, Castaic, Del Valle, Magic Mountain, Valencia, Soledad Canyon, Mint Canyon, Newhall, Placerita Canyon, Sand Canyon Santa Clarita, Saugus, Stevenson Ranch, Sylmar, Robinson Ranch, Val Verde, Westridge, Lost Canyon, and Tesoro del Valle.
