About
Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts (SCSOPA) offers classes in acting, modeling, dancing, singing, voice over, and vocal training. The program includes small acting, modeling, dancing, and singing classes, along with one-on-one consultation with faculty throughout its programs. SCSOPA operates with an open door policy of admission and is affiliated with Artist Development, Inc.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
Established in 2000, SCSOPA has been in the Santa Clarita Valley for 19 years. Its mission is “to make you the best actor, model, vocalist and dancer you can possibly be in the entertainment business.” Instructors at SCSOPA also work as professional directors, writers, and actors, and teachers are described as “working actors.” The school follows a limited class size policy and states that its programs nurture a supportive, positive atmosphere and an environment that promotes personal development and learning over competition. SCSOPA is ranked Number One for the production of top actors, actresses, singers and models and is listed among the top-rated acting schools in the country. It has a full production recording studio and state of the art studios, and many of Los Angeles’ top agents visit the school weekly, searching for new talent for representation. New enrollment includes free photo shoots.
The Better Business Bureau has accredited SCSOPA with an A+ rating. It has been voted “Best of Santa Clarita” in Acting, Dance, Modeling and Vocal Instruction for 11 consecutive years and is a Santa Clarita Business Hall of Fame inductee since 2015. SCSOPA is bonded with the State of California, listed as bonded with the State of California #70870404. All classes and seminars at SCSOPA are for educational purposes only and will not secure or provide opportunity for employment in the field or representation by an agent.
Parent and student testimonials describe being referred by Hollywood actors Terry and Rebecca Crews, long-term study at the school, and teachers who are actively in the industry and considered reputable sources for questions about agents, managers, and projects. One testimonial notes a student who attended for four years and thanks the school’s founder and teachers, and another describes a family in which both siblings and then a son took classes, with the son signing with an agent within two weeks. Another testimonial introduces a child named Sophia as energetic and animated and describes her enjoying attention in group settings.
