Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts

Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts offers Film Making, Commercials, Improv, Theater Workshops, Monologues, Scene Study, Acting Technique, Audition Technique, Voice-Over, Cold Reading, Modeling, and Songwriting. The program includes stage acting basics, staged production work, small group scene work, commercial performance practice, and class work on film making and songwriting.

Programs

• Film Making — This class focuses on the art of film making.
• Commercials — Instructs the students on how to perform commercials for auditions and booked jobs.
• Improv — Students will be working to strengthen their improv skills.
• Theater Workshops — Spend class going over the basics of acting on stage. At the end of the class we will have a staged production.
• Monologues — Study monologues to prepare for auditions and work on different techniques.
• Scene Study — Work in small groups of 2-3 people to work on acting with a partner.
• Acting Technique — Learn and break down acting styles and develop your skills.
• Audition Technique — Focus on the specific techniques needed to give a convincing performance on stage or screen.
• Voice-Over — Focus on the skills and technique needed to be a voice over actor.
• Cold Reading — Give you the skills and confidence to succeed at any cold reading audition.
• Modeling — Covers all the technique and skills you will need to take your modeling career to the next level.
• Songwriting — A class that covers the technical and creative requirements for writing modern songs.

About the provider

Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts was established in 2000, and the source also says it has been in the Santa Clarita Valley for 19 years. Its mission is to make students the best actor, model, vocalist, and dancer they can possibly be in the entertainment business. The program is Better Business Bureau accredited with an A+ rating, bonded with the State of California, voted “Best of Santa Clarita” in Acting, Dance, Modeling and Vocal Instruction for 11 consecutive years, and a Santa Clarita Business Hall of Fame inductee since 2015.
