About
West Coast Music Academy offers private, one-on-one music lessons, including piano, guitar, voice, ukulele, violin, drums, viola, flute, saxophone, and clarinet. The program also includes programs and events such as recitals, concerts, and picture day.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Flexible scheduling options are available seven days a week at the Santa Clarita facility, which operates seven days a week, and six days a week at the Granada Hills facility.
West Coast Music Academy was founded by Jeff Novack in 2008, and in 2017 the school expanded with a second location in Granada Hills. Teachers are highly qualified professionals; most have at least a bachelor's degree in music, many have master's degrees, and some have doctorates, and many instructors are also professional performers with extensive experience. The academy focuses exclusively on private, one-on-one music lessons, with teachers able to work with beginners, advanced players, and professional musicians in various styles and genres based on what students want to learn. Lessons are open-ended and continue month to month without contracts or semesters, and flexible lesson arrangements include online lessons for students. The program uses the Musical Ladder System®, and West Coast Music Academy is the first school in the Southern California region to use this system. The academy offers programs and events like recitals, concerts, and picture day, along with a rewards system to motivate students, and provides spacious waiting areas for families. Staff members handle scheduling and payments and emphasize customer service. One parent described it as “The BEST music school in the SCV area” and highlighted a knowledgeable, fun, and kind piano instructor who played duets with their child and helped their daughter enjoy playing piano.
