Coastal Kids L.A.

Coastal Kids L.A. offers summer camp, spring break camps, and school holiday and break outdoor adventures. The program says children do outdoor activities on the beach, trails, and on field trip days, and it also offers beach birthday party and special event setups with counselors available to run games and activities.

Programs

• Summer Camp — 2 and up; average ages are 3-6 years old · Monday-Friday, 9am-2pm; after care available; extended day options available · Beach camp in Santa Monica (Lifeguard Tower 26). Open to younger and older children. Private groups welcome.
• Spring Break Camps — 2 and up · During spring break; similar to summer camp · Mixes in some days on the trail or field trips days with fewer kids.
• School Holiday / Break Outdoor Adventures — 2 and up · Most school holidays and breaks throughout the year · Outdoor adventures on random off days; all outdoors.

About the provider

Director and founder Gordon C Ewing has taught early childhood education for 14 years, and the program says it has been out on the beach for 12 plus years. Staff go through Live Scan fingerprinting and are CPR and First Aid certified. The program says all programs are outdoors, with a low child-to-teacher ratio of 3:1 to 5:1 depending on location and ages, and that kids do not have to be potty trained.
