Santa Monica Surf School

Santa Monica Surf School offers private surf lessons and group surf lessons. Private surf lessons are 1 to 5 people and include a 15-minute land lesson and 90 minutes in the water, with a surfboard and wetsuit provided. Group surf lessons are two hours and include a board, wetsuit, and instruction.

Programs

• Private Surf Lessons — Ages 5-75 · $130–$480 · 1 to 5 people; 2 hours, 15-minute land lesson, 90 minutes in the water; ISA Coaches; CPR/First Aid Certified; Permitted Legal Operator. Private Lessons are either 90 minutes or 2 hours.
• Group Surf Lessons — Ages 12-75 · $100 · Two-hour group lessons; board, wetsuit, and instruction included; capped at 6 students per class on one page and 3 people per session per instructor on another page.
• Surf Camp — Boys and girls age 9 and up · Monday through Friday · $100–$425 per day
• Summer Camps — Boys and girls age 9 and up · Monday through Friday · $100–$425 per day · Summer camp dates and times are Monday through Friday for the entire summer break; all day sessions are from 9:00 AM till 2:00 PM.

About the provider

Santa Monica Surf School is International Surfing Association certified and is listed as the only surf school in Los Angeles certified by the International Surfing Association. The surf coaches are ISA certified and CPR/First Aid certified.

Santa Monica Surf School uses multiple locations in Santa Monica and Venice Beach depending on the surf. Group lessons are suitable for beginner-intermediate levels. Private lessons are available for every level from beginner to advanced.
