Kigala Preschool includes an on-site art studio called The Atelier and uses a smartphone communication app to keep parents connected. The program offers an International Group for ages 2–5 years and a summer camp for ages 2–6 years. The school describes itself as a culturally rich community that celebrates diversity and inclusivity, states that learning to appreciate diversity makes the community stronger, and identifies socio-emotional skills and project-based learning that highlights the process, not the product, as central to its teaching. Teachers are trained by founder Miss Elke in the practice of classes outdoors, are described as highly certified, and the director has more than 20 years of experience in child care. The founder, known as Miss Elke, is the Founding President and CEO of Goethe International Charter School, Co-Chair for Women in Business at the German American Business Association (GABA), and a Board Member of California Quality Early Learning. Safety measures include limited access entryways, privacy fences, and security cameras, and a professional cleaning service sanitizes and scrubs the space daily. The Parent Community Association meets to plan events, and fundraising events such as cookie baking, pumpkin carving, wine and cheese, and Beergarden gatherings support school improvements and supplies. The program notes small class sizes, weekly music and movement included in tuition, and special rates for the Kigala community.
