Santa Monica Pony Baseball offers youth baseball that includes both competitive baseball league play and development baseball league play. Players take part in activities such as player evaluations, player clinics, a coaches clinic, All-Star Teams practice, and Championship Games. The program offers year-round competitive and development baseball league play.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Spring Season runs about 13 weeks from mid February through May and includes regular season games and tournament playoffs, with signups beginning in the fall and player evaluations in early January; Fall Season runs about 10 weeks from early September through mid November, is intended as a developmental season, and includes one weekday practice and one weekend game, with signups beginning in June and player evaluations in late August.
Youth baseball at Los Amigos Park has been offered since 1952, and the tradition of baseball there began in 1952. Santa Monica Pony Baseball is a non-profit organization that was created to provide players between the ages of 3 and 19 years the opportunity to participate in baseball. Its stated mission is to Protect Our Nation's Youth as they grow into leaders of tomorrow. Over the years, Santa Monica Pony Baseball reports that it has instructed and educated thousands of kids in the techniques of baseball, good sportsmanship, and positive competition. The program notes that it is community based and for everyone in the family to enjoy, and that Big 5 is proud to support Santa Monica Pony Baseball. The organization offers early developmental and competitive programs, and a Select Program that provides the option for more advanced players to play baseball at a more challenging level. Santa Monica Pony Baseball lists a credential as COLT 16u Super Region Champions.
