About

Charles M. Schulz Museum Classes & Camps for Kids offers activities that include ice skating, LEGO animation, anime, cartooning, art, science, fine art, outdoor activities, animation, hands-on science, and theater arts. Some sessions feature themed programs such as Afterschool Acting on Stage Presents: “A Sally Brown Christmas” and Gingerbread Doghouse Workshops where participants assemble and decorate Snoopy’s doghouse out of gingerbread with a marshmallow Snoopy on top. Campers enrolled in both a morning and an afternoon camp stay at the Museum all day with a supervised lunch break when a packed lunch is provided.

• Ages: 8–16 years old
• Schedule: Options include a 12-week afterschool session for “A Sally Brown Christmas” and seasonal camps during Thanksgiving and Winter Break.
• Price: For summer camps, a $35.00 fee per registrant per camp is charged for cancellations after May 20 and up to 3 business days before the camp start date; for other camps, a $10.00 fee per registrant per camp is charged for cancellations made between 7 and 3 days before the start date; all fee assistance awards require a co-payment of at least $10.00 per child per camp.

The Schulz Museum states that its classes are educational programs and not childcare as defined by the State of California. The Museum offers half-day or full-day options, and full-day options may vary by age. Fee assistance is available for up to two camps per child per camp session and is awarded based on need, and Museum Members receive 20% off all camp fees.

Children ages 12 and 13 can participate as Junior Volunteers for summer classes, completing an application process, attending required training, and selecting two or more classes in which to help. Junior Volunteers receive training, mentoring, reviews and evaluations, and have the chance to develop leadership skills while working with younger campers. Children who need to take medication during camps must have a Release of Liability for Administering Medications form and an Authorization for Administering Medications form completed by a parent or guardian and signed by a doctor before the first day of camp.

The Schulz Museum states that it is committed to making its classes and camps available and accessible to everyone through its fee-assistance program. Eligible local nonprofit organizations can submit ticket donation requests. The organization’s leadership includes an Education Director, a School and Youth Programs Coordinator, and an Outreach and Camp Coordinator, along with directors and staff in areas such as business operations, facilities, marketing, membership, development, exhibitions, archives, and visitor services.
