Sensei Vinicius Costa leads Costa Judo Club. Vinicius is a black belt in judo and has been practicing judo for over 50 years. He has been teaching judo for 40 years and is a USA Judo Certified Coach. Vinicius won the Rio de Janeiro State Championship three times and earned second place at the Brazilian Judo Cup. After moving to the United States, he became California State Champion in 1994 and earned second place in the State Championship in 2011.
The mission of Costa Judo Club is to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for individuals of all ages and abilities to learn and practice the martial art of judo. The club focuses on personal growth, physical fitness, and mental discipline through judo's principles of respect, discipline, and perseverance. Its instructors are committed to teaching the technical skills and values of judo and promoting camaraderie and sportsmanship among members. The club also aims to inspire lifelong passion for the sport and contribute positively to the community.
