Santa Rosa United Soccer Club is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. It has a history in Sonoma County that began with the formation of the Santa Rosa Youth Soccer League in 1969 by Joe Belluzzo. The club’s mission is to utilize the sport of soccer to enhance the social, emotional, and physical well-being of its players and positively impact the community. The leadership team includes Executive Director Ben Langwith, Director of Soccer Operations and Field Scheduler Lee Summerscales, Boys Director Ben Langwith, Girls Director Claire Howard, Academy Director Jordan Anderson, Registrar & Office Administrator Kim Wright, and Referee Assignor Ezequiel Molina. The coaching staff is licensed and brings tactical knowledge and passion to each session. Santa Rosa United Soccer Club has been recognized as a Players First club by US Club Soccer for its commitment to player well-being and development. The club emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and community engagement through its programming and provides financial aid to players. In 2023, it established a Hall of Fame to recognize and honor individuals who have significantly contributed to its success and legacy. One parent of a U14 player describes the club as a place where the coaching staff cares about developing well-rounded players on and off the field. Another parent of a SRU 2014 Gold player notes that financial aid from the club has allowed her son to continue playing soccer and building confidence, leadership, and friendships.
