About

Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks Summer Camps offer activities such as canoeing, archery, nature projects, crafts, swimming, games, special events, field trips, BBQs, camper songs, and skits. Camp options also include animal behavior and health learning, bicycling, fencing, cross-training, archery and sword using specially constructed foam weapons, hand sewing, embroidery, applique, sock and stuffed animal creation, personal pillow making, improv games, jewelry stringing, weaving, bead making, fashion sketching and design, painting, drawing, paper mâché, mosaics, mono printing, collage, singing, dancing, acting, rehearsing a short original musical, creating a comic strip, story boarding, K-Pop dance, jazz, tap, and creating animal art with modeling clay and wool felted tufted animals.

• Ages: 3–13 years old
• Schedule: Sessions run in blocks of 2, 4, or 5 days
• Price: $90–$270 per session

The camps include options such as a special Thursday parent’s night program and camper overnight at Camp Wa-Tam, Camp Wa-Tots for older tots, and Doyle Adventure Camp with 3–4 CityBus excursions to local destinations. Camp Yu-Chi includes a Friday BBQ and parents program with camper songs and skits, Animal Vet Camp includes a classroom “vet hospital,” Bicycle Adventure Camp requires campers to independently ride a two-wheel bicycle and bring a functioning bicycle and helmet, and Fencing Adventure Camp teaches the modern style of fencing. Archery & Sword Adventure Camp uses specially constructed foam weapons, Camp Tiny Tots emphasizes socialization and fun and requires children to be toilet trained with no pull-ups, The Art of Hand Sewing Camp includes all supplies, Fashion Sketching and Design Camp holds a mini fashion show during the last 15 minutes of Thursday’s class, Let’s Put on a Show! A Musical Theater Camp presents a short original musical to family and friends on the last day and states that everyone gets a part, Creating a Comic Strip Camp references Marvel, K-pop, and Anime characters as examples, and K-Pop Dance Camp is described as “It’s going to be ‘Golden!’”.
