The MovementLAB

The MovementLAB offers dance camps, ongoing dance classes, and Adaptive Dance Classes, along with Hip Hop Auditions and Contemporary Auditions. Dancers take part in a biannual studio performance that features three unique programs, each presented twice, and videos from past performances are free to download and share. The program also offers the Miles Kintz Memorial Scholarship.

• Schedule: Spring session begins February 2nd, 2026, with no classes March 16th–22nd for spring break; a spring dress rehearsal and performance week runs May 25th–31st, followed by studio closure June 1st–14th, and a six-week summer session from June 16th–July 24th with classes meeting Tuesday–Thursday; Dance Company Auditions take place Sunday, August 10th, 2025, with Hip Hop Auditions from 10:00am–12:00pm and Contemporary Auditions from 1:00pm–2:30pm.

During Spring Dress Rehearsal & Performance Week, Program A has tech/dress on Monday, May 25th from 5–8pm, Program B on Tuesday, May 26th from 5–8pm, and Program C on Wednesday, May 27th from 5–8pm. Spring performances are scheduled at Spreckels Performing Arts Theater, with Program A on Thursday, May 28th at 7pm and Friday, May 29th at 7pm, Program B on Saturday, May 30th at 1pm and 6pm, and Program C on Sunday, May 31st at 1pm and 6pm. The MovementLAB has won the Best of Sonoma County Reader’s Choice Award for Best Dance Studio.

The MovementLAB is led by Bernadette Alverio-Tonks, who has many years of combined performing, teaching, producing, and choreography experience. The stated mission is that at The Movement Lab they believe in following your heart and pursuing your passion.
