Fort Cross Old Timey Adventures is led by Jesse Cross and Doreen Cross. Jesse started in the living history business around the year 2000 and launched Fort Cross about 10 years later on the back side of the family farm. Doreen’s daughter’s troop visited Fort Cross in June 2012, and Jesse and Doreen were married on April 4, 2015. They moved to Julian and in the spring of 2016 officially opened their business with the first annual Lilac Festival. School groups, Girl Scout troops, and other youth organizations attend field trips and hands-on education programs there, and the farm also offers open sign-up field trips, a farm tour adventure, and digital gift cards. The stated goal of Fort Cross is to fortify their post with love and grace for everyone who comes there, and they hope visitors feel welcome, like part of the family.
