Deep Dance Studio offers classes in dance styles such as hip hop, contemporary, ballroom, ballet, modern dance, and parkour. The program also includes tumbling, artistic gymnastics, handbalancing, circus arts, calisthenics, yoga, stretching, weightlifting, and acrobatics.

Deep Dance Studio states that it brings together elements of pop culture and classical techniques to help students express their unique personality through motion, and that it believes everyone can dance. The program has deep roots in Russian ballet technique, uses the Stanislavski artistic development method, and is based on an understanding of human anatomy and biomechanics. Deep Dance Studio offers a diverse range of classes and disciplines and offers a free trial class. The studio is looking for choreographers in styles such as hip hop and contemporary to join the staff or work on special projects, and these choreographers must have experience working with young children and teens.
Studio Director Mariia Donets started dancing at age 4, began as a professional ballroom dancer, is the winner of the Ukraine, Polish, and Slovenian Open Championships, and is a finalist of the Austrian Open Grand Slam and other world dance competitions. She graduated with honors from the St. Petersburg University of Arts and Social Sciences, majoring in classical and contemporary choreography, and was part of contemporary dance companies “Bye Bye Ballet” in St. Petersburg, BDDC, and “Far For” in Moscow. She led and participated in many workshops with dancers and choreographers such as Netherlands Dance Theater and Batsheva Dance Company.
Instructor Sama Mammadova completed a 12-year classical ballet education at the Baku Academy of Choreography in the classical department, placed third and fourth at competitions in Astrakhan (Russia) and Almaty (Kazakhstan), and performed at the Opera and Ballet Theater, Heydar Aliev Palace, State Song Theater, and the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater. Acrobatics instructor Joey Bowler has years of coaching experience in tumbling and artistic gymnastics, with skills in tumbling, handbalancing, circus arts, calisthenics, yoga, stretching, and weightlifting, holds an undergraduate degree in child and adolescent development and a master’s in curriculum and instruction, is a certified parkour coach, and has over two decades of coaching experience. Instructor Nicole Belov has over 15 years of dance experience in styles including hip hop, contemporary, and ballroom, trained under Mariia for 5 years, was an active member of the competitive open-style hip hop dance team Cruz Ctrl, served as Artistic Director for one year and Executive Director for another, was one of the primary choreographers for sets at competitions including Prelude NorCal and World of Dance Bay Area and Cruz Ctrl’s home showcase Mainstay, and has taught community classes, workshops for Cruz Ctrl, and masterclasses for Deep Dance Studio.
