Mount Eden Vaulting Club
Garrod Farms Riding Stables, 22647 Mount Eden Road, Saratoga, CA 95070
About
Mount Eden Vaulting Club offers equestrian vaulting through recreational classes, competitive teams, spring classes, and summer camps. Beginning vaulters learn general and horse safety and practice moves on a vaulting barrel, a stationary padded metal drum with a vaulting surcingle attached, before progressing to a horse. The program includes hands-on training with top coaches and uses gentle horses and state of the art facilities.
• Schedule: Spring classes and summer camps are offered; specific schedules vary by program
Mount Eden Vaulting Club is a non-profit 501(c)(3) club, and 100% of all donations go directly to the club. It is one of the oldest, largest, and most successful vaulting clubs in the USA, with vaulting at Garrod Farms since 1960 and the farm itself founded in 1893. The program is generously sponsored by and housed at Garrod Farms, and the club relies on contributions from the community in order to provide programs for vaulters and maintain standards of care for horses. Competitive teams from the club compete at all levels across the United States and at international events. According to the American Vaulting Association, vaulting is documented as safer than riding bicycles, playing on playground equipment, and playing soccer, and the “Three Points of Vaulting Safety” is the basis for the sport’s safety record.
