About
Disney Imagination Campus – Performing Arts Workshops (Dance Disney Workshop) focuses on dance and performing on a Disney stage. Participants learn choreography and staging techniques from Disney Parks shows, work on choreography from iconic Disney Theme Park shows that is exclusively available in this experience, and learn performance elements that elevate their movement to a uniquely Disney level of storytelling. Students also talk with industry veterans about the audition process, receive career advice, and take part in Q&A sessions with Disney Teaching Artists.

Students work directly with Disney Teaching Artists, all of whom are dance professionals currently working in the industry, and are treated as professional cast members in a live production environment. Choreography can be adjusted to suit the group’s ability level, and content can be adapted for dancers as young as 7 years old. The workshop is recommended for middle school, high school, and college dancers with at least 3 years of experience, and both Disney and non-Disney songs are included in the Disney Imagination Campus song list, with instrumental-only songs always accepted. At Disneyland Resort in California, a minimum of 20 performers is required per organized group to participate in this experience, and at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, a minimum of 15 performers is required per organized group. Groups also partake in the parks with specially priced tickets, and participants are expected to wear clothing and shoes appropriate for a dance rehearsal, with sandals and bare feet not permitted.
The mission of Disney Imagination Campus is student development, providing students with tools to express themselves creatively and academically so they are prepared for real-world challenges. The Performing Arts Workshops and Performances meet many of the National Core Arts Standards. The program offers a hands-on learning environment designed to enhance students’ creative intelligence, critical thinking, and communication skills, and students receive an inclusive education in a collaborative environment described as overflowing with creativity and Disney magic. Student travel programs and field trips are described as providing learning experiences beyond the classroom that harness the power and magic of Disney storytelling.
