About
Studygascar Math and Chess Learning Center offers chess classes, math sessions, chess camp, and math camp. The program also includes practice chess tournaments with different time controls. Children of all chess levels and math skills are welcome, and math and/or chess instruction is based on each student’s individual level.
• Schedule: Group chess classes are available on Saturdays, with online chess classes and math sessions on select weekdays, and summer math and chess camps offering morning (9am–1pm), afternoon (1pm–5pm), and all-day (9am–5pm) sessions, plus daily and hourly drop-ins.
Studygascar summer math and chess camps run from Monday, June 8 through Wednesday, August 12, 2026, with the schedule effective from Monday, June 8 through Monday, August 31, 2026. Math camp participants work on individualized math assignments, and each student progresses through the math program at his or her own pace after completing a math assessment test to determine a starting point. Chess camp participants study chess tactics, strategy, and endgames, and play practice chess tournaments with different time controls to prepare for USCF rated tournaments.
The Studygascar math program uses a strict logical and linear approach, builds strong math fundamentals that help children succeed in high school math and beyond, and is based on a gradual logical approach that adds new topics and concepts in small manageable steps. The chess program consists of five levels (beginner, lower intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate, and advanced), and the advanced chess program is geared towards competitive tournament chess players and includes advanced strategic and opening preparation. Students are required to master a certain math or chess level before advancing, and programs start from basics and add new topics and concepts in small increments, following the natural logic of each subject.
Studygascar is a math and chess learning center dedicated to building a strong foundation of logical skills, developing strong math and chess study habits, and helping children become independent and efficient learners. The Studygascar Method is founded on the belief that every child can easily achieve mastery in chess and in any school subject once the child builds sound study habits and practices regularly. Children are encouraged to study on their own without direct adult help in most situations, and Studygascar focuses on helping children build sound study habits and learn how to study independently rather than traditional tutoring.
