Studygascar is a math and chess learning center that teaches mathematics and chess separately and uses the Studygascar Method, which is based on the belief that every child can easily achieve mastery in chess and school subjects once the child builds sound study habits and practices regularly. The math program is highly structured, uses a mastery approach, and is arranged in a strict logical and linear order, with each level building on the previous one and students required to fully master addition and subtraction before moving to multiplication and division, then fractions, then decimals, and later to arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and advanced topics. The math curriculum is not adjusted for each student, but each student starts at an individualized confidence point determined by math assessment tests and then progresses at an individualized pace. The chess program has five levels, starting with a beginner program that teaches the basics and rules of chess in detail, three intermediate programs that build tactical skills and introduce strategic analysis and opening preparation methods, and an advanced program geared toward competitive tournament players that includes advanced strategic and opening preparation.

At Spring Break Math and Chess Camp, children of all levels receive customized instruction for beginners and advanced players, study chess tactics, strategy, and endgames, and play practice tournaments with different time controls to prepare for USCF rated tournaments, while math participants work on individualized math assignments. At Summer Math and Chess Camps, children of all chess levels and math skills are welcome, and math and chess instruction is provided based on each student’s individual level. Study materials are designed so adults can step aside and let children work on their own, and children are encouraged to study independently in most situations. The programs aim to keep each child in his or her optimal learning zone, and the ultimate goal is for children to acquire lifetime learning skills, sound study habits, and confidence. Studygascar also maintains a YouTube channel with chess videos.
