Sausalito Yacht Club Youth Sailing

Sausalito Yacht Club Youth Sailing includes Youth Sailing along with yacht racing and sail training. The program also offers cruise ins, cruise outs, and access to kayaks and stand-up paddleboards (kayak/SUP use).

The club’s mission is to actively promote the sport of boating, provide sail training, develop and sponsor yacht racing events, educate members about marine-oriented skills, be actively involved in the community, and provide and manage a bar and galley operation for the benefit of the membership. The organization’s history includes its founders conceiving and establishing the club on New Year’s Eve of 1942, with the clubhouse completed and dedicated on September 24, 1960. Leadership roles at the club include a Membership Chair, Junior Sailing Directors, Flag Officers and Chairs, an Executive Board, and a General Manager. The club notes welcoming staff, diverse on-the-water programs, fun events, and stunning views, and describes itself as a hub of activity, friendship, food, and a lively bar, as well as a place to celebrate milestones, gather for holidays, teach kids to sail, dance to live music, and borrow a kayak. The club states that membership has been and will continue to be inclusive and diverse, and that all applicants are considered for membership without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, or age.
