Expressive Learning One-on-One Tutoring

Expressive Learning One-on-One Tutoring offers individualized one-on-one tutoring in all subject areas. The program uses tutors who are experienced educators and credentialed teachers, and it focuses on each student’s unique learning style.

Christi Maloney is the owner and a tutor at Expressive Learning One-on-One Tutoring, and she has worked in education in Scotts Valley since 1998, joining Expressive Learning as a tutor in 2009 and taking ownership in 2018. The tutoring team also includes tutors Anna Mee, Anne Powers-Penilla, Cristine Smith, Bonnie Scherer, Chelsea Huynh, and Kelly Norman. Anne has tutored students from pre-K to 8th grade in both group and one-on-one settings. Cristine has become well-versed in the Scotts Valley Middle School curriculum and the developmental realities of 10- to 14-year-olds and has received training as a reading specialist working one-on-one with students with reading challenges. The program serves students in Scotts Valley, San Lorenzo Valley, Santa Cruz, and surrounding areas, and Christi, who was raised in Scotts Valley, prioritizes relationship-building with both students and their families.
