Nexbooks Online Courses includes math courses aligned with state and federal standards, along with electives that expand beyond the scope of common core standards. Online courses are video-based and asynchronous, and teacher-led courses do not have live instruction. In teacher-led courses, assignments are graded by credentialed teachers who provide feedback. The program offers a 7-day free trial with access to the entire catalogue and no credit card required, as well as a 1-year unlimited courses option with access to the full catalogue and an easy to use dashboard. Courses can be used for credit recovery if approved by the school. Nexbooks is not a school and does not issue transcripts, but it offers certificates of completion.

Nexbooks was founded by Ryan Teves, who has a credential in math and science for middle and high school. The mission of Nexbooks is to make math more fun and clear and to build courses that are relevant and exciting to kids.

Nexbooks has received a Top 3 Educational Website Award from voters on Homeschool.com. Its courses are a-g approved by the UCOP, and it is approved as an online course publisher. Nexbooks has started the process to be a-g approved for teacher-led courses and is seeking the required WASC SEP approval.
