Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) Events

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) Events program includes martial arts and combat activities, fighting, fencing, archery, art competitions, classes and workshops, youth activities, feasts, and royal or baronial court. The SCA says events are its major activity, and a wide range of SCA events take place practically every weekend of the year.

About the provider

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) dates back to May 1, 1966. It is an international non-profit volunteer educational organization devoted to the research and re-creation of pre-seventeenth century skills, arts, combat, culture, and the use of history in events, demonstrations, and other educational presentations and activities. The SCA community includes over 30,000 members in 20 kingdoms around the globe.

You are not required to purchase a membership before you start attending, although you may wish to join if you decide to attend regularly. Members receive discounts on event entry fees, and some kingdoms do require membership to participate in certain activities.
