For 85 years, The Help Group has been helping children, adults, and families across Los Angeles build resilience, create hope, and unlock their limitless potential. Its mission is stated as helping people Learn, Thrive, Work, Play, Belong, and Grow. Across its programs, The Help Group serves 25,000 individuals each year, including 10,000 individuals receiving therapy and supportive services and 1,100 children and teens in enrichment programs, with 36 teens and adults living in its residential centers. The organization operates 9 state-certified nonpublic day schools throughout Los Angeles County and has been awarded a $10,000 grant from NEXT for AUTISM.
The Help Group notes a partnership with Curtis School that began with a Unified Games Day and expanded into a student-centered exchange grounded in understanding and connection. Parent and participant feedback includes comments such as, “You have been a lifeline in the most vulnerable time in my life. I have gained so much valuable insight about changing career directions and the achievable steps that will require,” from Denise, and “Training at the P.L.A.N. Assessment Center has been incredibly meaningful, helping families understand their child's needs and supporting their full potential,” from Natalie.
