Camp Winthers

Camp Winthers offers Outdoor Art, Recreation Sports, Outdoor Skills, STEAM Camp, Music Camp, and Venture Base Camp. Campers in Outdoor Art sketch, paint, make nature crafts, learn Native American traditions, and tie-dye. Recreation Sports includes badminton, floor hockey, dodgeball, four square, and disc golf. Outdoor Skills includes outdoor navigation, hiking, learning about the outdoors, and cooking a meal at the campfire.

Programs

• Outdoor Art — 9-13 · Campers explore art techniques while in nature, including sketching, painting, nature crafts, Native American traditions, and tie-dying.
• Recreation Sports — 9-13 · Games and sports including badminton, floor hockey, dodgeball, four square, and disc golf.
• Outdoor Skills — 9-13 · Teaches outdoor navigation skills, hiking, learning about the outdoors, and cooking a meal at the campfire.
• STEAM Camp — A creative camp where campers plan, design, and build their own creation using hands, imagination, and materials found almost anywhere.
• Music Camp — For kids with at least one year of formal music education; includes rehearsals, lessons, outdoor activities, and ensembles such as concert band, choir, and jazz.
• Venture Base Camp — 13-15 · Designed exclusively for students ages 13 to 15; campers sleep outdoors, prepare their own meals, and build teamwork, leadership, and outdoor living skills.

Camp Winthers has been a hub of environmental education since 1957. Venture Base Camp is designed for students ages 13 to 15 and includes sleeping outdoors, preparing meals, and building teamwork, leadership, and outdoor living skills. Music Camp is for kids with at least one year of formal music education and includes rehearsals, lessons, outdoor activities, and ensembles such as concert band, choir, and jazz. Campers sleep on cots in tent cabins, and showers are available and highly recommended. Music Camp is a 6 day/5 night program and ends with a concert; families can choose to drive their child home after the concert, or the kids can stay for the All-Camp Dance and ride the bus home on Saturday morning.
