Kids Outdoor Sports Camp

Kids Outdoor Sports Camp offers hands-on fishing, archery, nature walks, wildlife observation, group games, safety, and conservation activities in its Beginner Camp. The camp also includes the Hunter Education course and certification test. Elite Camp campers choose a specialty tract such as advanced archery, big game strategy, marksmanship, or conservation science, and they mentor younger campers.

• Elite II Camp — 14-17 · Overnight · Fifth level of the Outdoor Conservation Explorer program; campers must qualify and be recommended based on previous camps with KOSC and letters of recommendation.

About the provider

Kids Outdoor Sports Camp was founded in 1998 and says it is celebrating its 27th year of summer camps. The program says that over 26+ summers, it has trained thousands of kids in California and is building the next generation of outdoor and conservation leaders. It also says it hosts over 200 campers each summer and partners with Wing and Barrel Ranch, and that Judy Oswald remains actively involved in the camps.

Beginner Camps are overnight sleep-away camps. Advanced and Elite Camps are overnight sleep-away camps. Elite Camp is selective and requires campers to have completed at least one previous season with KOSC, with a readiness form/questionnaire and approval. Elite Camp also says ages 14+ unless otherwise determined by KOSC staff. Combo camp skill levels are separated during rotations, but dining and other activities are done together.
