About
SwimAmerica Sonoma offers Youngster Swim, Swim School, Stroke School, Adaptive Swim, and Adult Swim. SwimAmerica lessons use a series of stations that focus on skill development and stroke progression. Once a child masters the skills and advancement goals at a station, the child moves to the next station and begins working on more advanced skills, and each student progresses at their own rate.
• Ages: 0–18 years old
SwimAmerica Sonoma was founded in 1994 with one core mission: to make the life-saving skill of swimming accessible for everyone. The program is licensed by SwimAmerica, the nation’s leading learn-to-swim program developed by the American Swimming Coaches Association, and it is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Site Supervisors conduct ongoing evaluations of each swimmer and advance students as soon as they are ready for the next station. The organization teaches the curriculum of SwimAmerica and Swim AngelFish. Adaptive Swim is specifically curated and individually designed for swimmers with physical or mental disabilities, and all Adaptive Swim coaches are certified via Swim AngelFish. Adult Swim is for adults with water trauma or who have little swimming experience. SwimAmerica Sonoma is a proud partner of the Hanna Center.
