All Hands Ecology Youth Nature & Environmental Education Programs includes activities such as leading nature hikes with kids, wildlife tracking hikes in the Sonoma Valley, and nature walks. The program also connects with the Fire Forward program, which conducts site visits and prescribed burns and provides mentorship and training. Participants are connected to research and education efforts such as the Living with Lions program, which studies mountain lions in Sonoma, Napa, and Marin, and a study of shorebirds and waterbirds that overwinter on Tomales Bay.
All Hands Ecology states a mission of connecting nature, people, and science for a more resilient world, including a belief that healthy plant and animal populations are signs of a healthy world, that access to nature builds healthy communities, and that regional environmental challenges can be tackled by working collaboratively. The organization describes a “Four Canyons” soundscape greeting callers as a sound walk through the four canyons of Martin Griffin Preserve with streams, wetlands, redwoods, and up to 245 species of birds and mammals.
