About
The SCT Junior Summer Youth Program includes SCT Junior Stage for young artists interested in acting, singing, and dancing, and SCT Junior Crew for those interested in stagecraft, design, and construction of sets, props, and costumes. Both SCT Junior Stage and SCT Junior Crew culminate in the production of a full-scale musical, with the Summer 2026 production of Willy Wonka Jr. The program also offers workshops and training experiences for kids and adults throughout the year.

Stockton Civic Theatre’s SCT Junior Summer Youth Program states that its mission is to provide high-quality arts education opportunities that cultivate creativity, community, and artistic growth for its students. Students must be between 8 years of age as of Monday, June 22, 2026, and no older than 17 as of Sunday, July 26, 2026, to be eligible to enroll in the 2026 SCT Junior Program. The program annually offers SCT Junior Stage and SCT Junior Crew, and it offers three need-based scholarships: the SCT Junior Scholarship (partial tuition), the Bill Grotemeyer Scholarship (full tuition), and the Ayden Rodriguez Scholarship (full tuition). Scholarship funds are applied directly to the student’s 2026 tuition and sent to the SCT box office in the student’s name, and scholarship applications must be received by Friday, April 10, 2026; scholarships are awarded Tuesday, April 14, and recipients have 4 days to accept prior to the April 18 registration date.
The SCTjr program director is Emily Norris. The stage team includes Chelsea Bonardi as director, Chelsea Hill as choreographer, and Emily Norris as vocal director. The crew team includes Val Cichocki as shop manager and David Qualls for production design. The Board President is Kimberlee Yee, and the Artistic Director is Dennis Beasley. Additional leadership roles include Chelsea Hill as Box Office Manager, Jenna Zepponi Lehman as Business Manager, and Sierra Beal as Director of Marketing and Office Management.
Stockton Civic Theatre was born in 1951. One testimonial describes it as “A great community theatre showcasing local talent. Professional productions, I have enjoyed many over the last 40 years!
