About
Kids In Nutrition Education Program includes interactive visuals, hands-on games, physical activities, personal reflection, and group work. Teams of volunteer university student KINstructors teach lessons that include nutrition and food systems education using trauma-informed, culturally responsive curricula. The lessons are evidence-based and culturally relevant and use a university-to-elementary student peer mentorship approach with trained university volunteers as near-peer mentors.
• Schedule: Teams of volunteer university student KINstructors visit local elementary classrooms to teach once a week for seven weeks.
