The studio is owned by Joan Zuehlke, with additional dance instructors Jillaine Laughlin, Gabrielle Singleton, Molly Bettencourt, Juliette Singleton, Miah Mallery, Hannah Martin, Autumn Robbins, and Seanne McElrath. Joan is a Cecchetti fellow of the Cecchetti Council of America, has been a member for 46 years, and holds an advanced professional teachers certificate in classical ballet, and she has served as a Committee Chairman, Assistant Principal, and Principal for the ballet seminar at Mills College in Oakland, California. Jillaine has passed her Grade 7 Advanced Professional Exam and up to her Grade 3 teachers exam with the Cecchetti Method of Ballet, while Gabrielle and Miah have each passed their Grade 5 Cecchetti exam. Joan’s Studio of Dance is a Cecchetti Certified Ballet School, and Joan’s method of teaching is derived from a graded syllabus by Al Gilbert and Glenn Shipley.

The studio’s mission statement says that it believes dance can be enjoyed by all and builds grace, poise, and self confidence both on and off the stage. The dance year ends in June with a family friendly annual recital. Joan performed with a touring group during World War II, entertaining servicemen in camps and hospitals with USO shows, and instructor Seanne has participated in many local events for the arts and states he is always happy to be of service to the community.
