California Polo Club was established in 1876 and reopened its doors for business at its current location in January 1995. Since reopening in 1995, the club has focused on making polo accessible to all through comprehensive lessons and a welcoming community for both novices and seasoned players, with a philosophy of supporting the polo community of riders and horses in the best arena polo environment possible. Three dedicated polo players – Rodney Fragodt, Ralph Rosato, and Carlos Figueroa – reopened the club’s doors for business in January 1995. The club is a proud and longstanding member of the United States Polo Association (USPA) and is an official USPA Polo Club, hosting numerous USPA sanctioned and local events annually, with all matches open to the public for viewing free of charge. Its regulation size arena is considered the best on the West Coast, and the facility was chosen by Polo America as the Best Arena Polo Club in the country in 2013 and 2014, as well as Best Polo School in the country in 2013 and 2014. California Polo Club is the proud host of the U.S. Arena Open Polo Championship every other year and is the home of the WCT Arena Polo Championship, described as the premiere all-women’s arena polo National Championship. Group classes run every week with private lessons available by appointment, and areas at the club are available for rentals, private events, and community events. The club accepts contributions and polo scholarships to help support the club and grow the community, and it has been described by the U.S. Polo Association as offering “The best arena polo in SoCal.”
