Young People’s Theatre Drama School runs drama classes connected to Young People’s Theatre’s professional stage productions. The program operates within a professional theatre that focuses on classic and contemporary works from Canada and around the world that are written especially for children and their families. The mission of Young People’s Theatre includes a commitment to having a positive impact on the emotional, social and intellectual development of young people. The organization states that the theatre it creates for kids receives the same level of care as theatre created for adults, and that it is committed to reflecting the diversity of the world that young people live in. The leadership team connected to the theatre includes Stephen Colella (Associate Artistic Director & Literary Manager and Associate Artistic Director and Dramaturg), Kate Supleve (Director of Development), Avalon Acaso (Sponsorship & Development Officer, Foundations & Corporate), and Liza Hersh (Development Officer). Rental spaces are available at Young People’s Theatre.
