Tulare NJB is a basketball program that includes skills assessments, team drafts, practices, league games, an end of season tournament, a sectional All-Star tournament, and additional All Star tournaments. The program also offers a Rookies group that meets on game days for practice and then plays a game against another rookie team, with rookie game days lasting about one and a half hours. Division 4 games do not keep score and do not have a tournament.
• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: Registration in August and September; skills assessments in early October; team drafts in late October; practices starting in November; league games from late November through January; Rookies games on specific January dates; league tournament and sectional All-Star tournament in February; All Star tournaments in March
• Price: Rookies (Kindergarten & 1st grade) - $115; Division 4 Co-Ed 2nd Grade - $155; Division 3 Boys and Girls 3rd & 4th grade - $180; Division 2 Boys and Girls 5th & 6th grade - $180; Division 1 Boys and Girls 7th & 8th grade - $180; an added credit card fee is not included in the registration cost
Tulare NJB includes an NJB official uniform, a team picture, CIF referees, seven league games, and a two-day tournament. Rookie coaches are members of local high school basketball teams. The program notes that girls’ divisions could be combined with Visalia NJB depending on registration numbers, with combined-division teams made up of Tulare-registered players who practice in Tulare. Tulare NJB states it is in its 40th year of serving its community through basketball. The program uses SportsEngine’s Sports Relationship Management (SRM) software and is subject to the Tulare NJB privacy policy.
