Tulare NJB offers youth basketball that includes skills assessments, team drafts, practices, league games, an end of season tournament, a single elimination tournament, a sectional All-Star tournament, and additional All Star tournaments. The program includes NJB Official Uniforms, CIF referees, and team pictures as part of registration, along with 7 league games and a two-day tournament.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Registration in August and September; skills assessments on Sunday, October 5th and Sunday, October 12th; team drafts the week of October 27th; practices starting the week of November 13th; league game days on November 29th, December 6th, 13th, 20th, January 10th, 17th, and 24th; end of season tournament on January 31st and February 1st; Rookies on January 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st; league tournament in February; sectional All-Star tournament in February; All Star tournaments in March
• Price: Rookies (Kindergarten & 1st grade) $115; Division 4 Co-Ed 2nd Grade $155; Division 3 Boys and Girls 3rd & 4th grade $180; Division 2 Boys and Girls 5th & 6th grade $180; Division 1 Boys and Girls 7th & 8th grade $180; an added credit card fee is not included in the registration cost
Rookies do not have weekly practices and instead meet with their coaches on game days to practice and then play a game against another rookie team, with game days lasting about one and a half hours. Rookie coaches are members of local high school basketball teams. Division 4 does not keep score, focuses on learning to dribble without double dribbling or traveling, proper defensive footwork, and other fundamentals, and does not have a tournament. Girl's Divisions could be combined with Visalia NJB depending on registration numbers, with Girl's Division teams made up of Tulare registered players who practice in Tulare, and game days for combined Girl's Divisions could be slightly different than stated.
Tulare NJB notes that this is its 40th year of serving the community through basketball. The program states that its website is powered by SportsEngine's Sports Relationship Management (SRM) software and is owned by and subject to the Tulare NJB privacy policy.
