Steele Yard Equestrian Camp

Steele Yard is a small, boutique training program that focuses on building confidence in each rider’s equine partnership. Head trainer Matty Ringel creates opportunities for each rider to gain confidence and hone their skills in a fun environment, with extra time spent with each client and their horse. Every client is given personal attention, with a focus on understanding the philosophy behind every exercise so students can truly understand the concepts and continue to recreate their success for years to come. The program also focuses on bringing top hunter jumper horses from Europe to California.

Steele Yard was created as a private equine investment partnership between Benjamin Steele and Alexandra Ireland in 2017. The mission at Steele Yard is to create a safe, fun learning environment where students flourish. Alexandra spent a majority of her time in Europe searching for horses for the US market and continuing her education, and she continues her investment program in Europe. Matty Ringel joined Steele Yard as part of the training team full time in 2020 and now runs the training program full time, building a client base that enjoys a balance of fun, friendship, and success in and out of the show ring.
