Art Backyard School of Creativity offers weekly art and architecture classes, art workshops, museum trips, private classes, portfolio preparation, and online workshops. The program also offers classes for schools and after-school programs, classes for homeschoolers, an art club, art birthday parties, birthday art workshops, personalized themed art workshops, painting for couples, and face painting. Students explore art history, architectural styles, famous artists, world cultures, history, and elements of STEAM through drawing, painting, crafting, design projects, and other hands-on projects using both traditional and recycled materials.

The school space includes rooms for private and group classes, a mini-library with books about architecture and arts for kids, and a space for adults to work while waiting for kids and enjoy a cup of coffee. Weekend workshops, art birthday parties, and seasonal art camps are hosted, and parties for kids and adults can be held in the school or at a location within Irvine in Orange County, California. All materials for the art workshop are provided for parties, and face painting and decorations are available by request, with gift cards that can be used for any programs, including workshops, classes, parties, birthday parties, private lessons, or workshops.
Art Backyard was created from the idea that art should be more than learning how to draw and should inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence. The program focuses on developing problem-solving skills and creative thinking, with a goal of helping children see how exciting and diverse the world is, and encourages children to think independently, express themselves confidently, and develop skills to become creative problem-solvers of the future. For over 15 years, founder Kate Bulgakova has worked in design, education, and creative programming, and she holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Art Education. The program also provides programs for schools, along with lesson plans for after-school programs and homeschooling.
