Kids Pottery & Art Summer Camp

Kids Pottery & Art Summer Camp takes place at Mud Hen Clay and Art Studio and includes activities such as pottery class, paint-your-own pottery, Kids Ceramics, Adult Ceramics, and Clay Date. Students create by hand, one piece at a time, and shape clay into functional and decorative pieces while learning foundational hand-building techniques in a relaxed, creative environment. Kids are introduced to pottery wheel techniques through live demonstrations before trying the process themselves, and young artists work on imaginative projects like teapots.

• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Class and workshop options are available Tuesday through Sunday during daytime and early evening hours, with Adult Ceramics meeting one time for 2 hours.

At Mud Hen Clay and Art Studio, pottery made in class stays at the studio to dry and get fired, which takes approximately 2–3 weeks, and the studio takes about 4–6 weeks to package pieces for pickup, with a 30-day pickup window after firing. Paint-your-own pottery is available for walk-ins, and space is limited with spots filling quickly. The studio notes that up to 3 lbs of clay and the first firing are included for Adult Ceramics. Families are asked to dress comfortably, expect to get messy, wear shoes, tie back long hair, and arrive 5–10 minutes before class, where students wash their hands and may use aprons provided by the studio.
