One Jiu Jitsu & Fitness offers training in Jiu Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Mixed Martial Arts. The program includes instruction from black belt Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructors who teach students with a wide range of experience levels and backgrounds.
The head instructor, Giva Santana, is a 5th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with more than 20 years of teaching experience, working with children, hobbyists, and professional fighters. He holds degrees in Kinesiology and Physical Education from Santana University in Brazil, where he was twice awarded best student on campus and once best athlete on campus. The program’s stated mission is to use Jiu Jitsu to build confidence and discipline and to support students in practicing Jiu Jitsu without distractions, excessive pressure, or violence, while recognizing that students value Jiu Jitsu for many different reasons. The school works with a diverse group of students, including doctors, children, attorneys, soccer moms, and fighters. Instructors follow the One Jiu Jitsu philosophy of empowerment and personal growth, and the team highlights student achievements on and off the mat. The head instructor is nicknamed “The Arm Collector” for his armbar submissions, and the program advertises a “GET YOUR FREE PASS” offer.
