About
Ovation School for the Performing Arts offers a Summer Musical Theater Workshop where students learn the basics of musical theater and put a show together from start to finish. Participants incorporate singing, acting, and dancing in theater and work toward a culminating performance of The Jungle Book Kids. During the year, students take voice, acting, tap, and musical theatre classes, and the Oscar Group focuses on film production by writing and producing their own film, while Ovation Plus incorporates dance, acting, and singing for teens and adults with special needs.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: The Summer Musical Theater Workshop is a 3-week workshop that meets Monday through Thursday from July 13–30, and the Performing Arts Program meets twice a week from 4:00 to 6:15 PM, with Ovation Plus on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00–8:30.
• Price: Tuition for the Summer Musical Theater Workshop is $450 and includes all class materials, with a 10% family discount available and a $50 discount for registration by June 15th, and discounts may not be combined.
Ovation School for the Performing Arts was founded in 2004 and is celebrating 22 years, with the 2025–2026 school year beginning on September 8/9, 2025, and the 2025–2026 school year open for registration. The program is appropriate for students in grades 1–12 and is divided into four groups: Tonys (ages 6–8), Emmys (ages 9–10), Grammys (ages 11–13), and Oscars (ages 14–17), with each class group taking three classes on each day and working toward performing in a Broadway-style show. Classes are offered as a package at a low tuition rate so students can explore all facets of the performing arts without having to choose, and open enrollment is offered. Ovation Plus is exclusively for teens and adults with special needs. Ovation School for the Performing Arts is a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization.
Ovation states that it is dedicated to the discovery, education and development of character and talent, and that it uses the performing arts to teach life-skills and the concept of giving back. The program description states that students learn life-skills that build character and confidence, including self-discipline, teamwork, and the concept of “paying it forward” by giving back to their community. Students give back to their community through activities such as singing to seniors at a convalescent home and handing out toys to children at Christmas. The program description also states that Ovation attracts students of all levels of ability, from the professional child actor to the extremely shy teenager, that Ovation has become a safe haven for many youth in the community, and that students are free to explore their creativity without fear of judgment or rejection. The mission statement explains that Ovation’s wish is to compose an environment where creativity is limitless, that creativity is allowed to blossom while teaching structure in a non-judgmental or critical way, and that staff members aim to be role models while holding students accountable so they learn self-discipline. The program description states that Ovation is about the process and that the end result is not necessarily the goal.
