• Ages: 6–18 years old

Vacaville Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club began in 2001, with the first site chartered in 2003, an additional site chartered in 2005, two extensions opened in 2014, one more extension opened in 2015, and the latest site added in 2018. Since opening in October 2003, it has served over four thousand youth and now operates a total of 9 sites in Vacaville, including a Teen Center at the Meadows and services for the middle school population at Vaca Pena. The organization is a non-profit 501(C)3 aligned with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and states a mission to inspire and empower youth and teens, especially those who need it most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens in a fun and safe environment. It was formed after the City of Vacaville created an advisory group that included community business leaders and caring citizens, and it partners with Vacaville Community Housing and the Vacaville Unified School District to operate programs at several elementary schools. The Club reports that community investments and strong leadership have been key drivers, that board members contribute time, talent, or treasure, and that working for the Club is described as a lifestyle. Leadership includes CEO Anna Eaton, Executive Director Montoya Graham, President David Esparza, Vice President/Resource Development Mike Johnson, Secretary Lisette Estrella-Henderson, Treasurer Lissette Mora, Director of Operations Will Mosley, Resource Development Director Kelsey Spencer, Program Director Itzely Suarez, and Admin Barbara Hernandez, along with a board of directors that includes Cherie Stagg, Curtis Hunt, Diana Bennett, Ian Schumtlzer, Michael Strunk, Michelle Sabolich, and Rob Frankenburg. The Club notes that it stayed open throughout the pandemic crisis, that its headquarters closed for renovations and later reopened with staff returned and children’s laughter again in the facility, and that it runs a Building Brighter Futures Campaign with a stated goal that all Club members graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrate good character and citizenship, and lead a healthy lifestyle. Hip hop recording artist Ashanti is listed as a celebrity alumni.
